Deep snow blanketed the ground.
The boys ran outside.
No school means fun in the snow.
Lazy Sundays are the best,
better than all the rest.
Saturday is made for fun,
games and sports for everyone.
But when Sunday comes around,
on the couch is where I’m found.
Video games or a tv show,
snacks will be had, this I know.
I’ll try not to dwell on evil Monday,
while I enjoy my lazy Sunday.
Gargoyle skin is made of stone,
Covering up their sinew and bone.
All through the day, they make not a sound,
When darkness falls, they leap to the ground.
Gargoyles may play a trick or cause a fight,
But some just dance in the bright moonlight.
If you’re out at night and you see,
Gargoyles everywhere, running free.
Don’t you dare stop and stare,
They can kill you with just a glare.
As fast as you can, run away,
You won’t be safe until the light of day.
All through the night, they are sinew and bone,
But in the light, gargoyles are just stone.
Your fake smile holds no joy,
such a mean and nasty boy.
You call us the best of friends,
but the bullying just never ends.
As a friend you’re just bad.
Talking to you makes me mad.
Friends should comfort you when you cry.
They do not ridicule your reasons why.
We’ve been friends for many a year,
but you’ve seldom brought me cheer.
So, the time has come for me to say,
my former friend, please go away.
Time slowed down to a stop,
My body felt like it might pop.
His weight against me felt just right,
And I wondered if this was the night.
His hot breath against my cheek,
Made me melt and feel weak.
Our bodies entwined, two became one,
The only light from the setting sun.
We heard a noise from behind the wall,
His roommate’s footsteps down the hall.
A frustrated sigh, a silent hiss,
As we shared one last kiss.
For right now, we must part,
Though, soon we will restart.
Our time together will come soon,
Maybe next time beneath the moon.
I know that he is the one,
Whether beneath the moon or the sun.
He owns my soul and warms my heart,
And he has right from the start.
The north wind blows cold.
The smell of snow on the air.
The blizzard rolls in.
Evil spread, the land grew dark.
Good was absent, there was no spark.
Demons and monsters ruled it all.
Empires crumbled, kingdoms did fall.
A hero rose from out of the night.
Into the dark he brought the fight.
Sword and shield, he fought the horde.
Demons and monsters, their black blood poured.
The hero grew weary, but his strength never waned.
He kept on fighting, though his body was pained.
The people who saw him decided to fight.
Darkness began fading, the land growing bright.
Each town they encountered, their numbers grew fast.
The light’s power was growing, the dark’s time was past.
The hero and his army marched on through the night.
Evil was frightened, what had been dark was now light.
The army searched throughout all the caves.
Darkness was conquered, every troll, gnome and knave.
The lord of the darkness made his last stand.
The hero destroyed him and saved the land.
Monday morning comes too fast,
The weekend never seems to last.
I wake and get out of bed,
Stupid Monday, I feel dead.
Into the shower, I now go,
Fresh and clean from head to toe.
Clean and dressed I go down the hall,
Waffles and bacon, I eat it all.
I grab my stuff and go out the door,
Off to Starbucks where they pour,
A coffee that will finally make,
My tired eyes come full awake.
I still yawn, I cannot stop,
I drink my coffee, so I won’t drop.
Coffee and yawns, these are the clues,
That I have the Monday Blues.
The snow falls softly to the ground,
A howling wind, the only sound.
A freezing chill bites through the air,
Every beast is hidden in their lair.
Me and you, warm by the fire,
Our eyes burning with desire.
Two hearts that now beat as one,
whether in the snow or in the sun.
Tomorrow we’ll go outside and play.
Snow can be fun in the light of day.
Snowmen, sledding, and other fun,
Wild snowball fights for everyone.
Good times the whole day long,
maybe even ending with a song.
Tired and happy, inside we will go,
to warm our hands with hot cocoa.
Daytime friends have now gone,
Once again, we are all alone.
By the fire, we find bliss,
With cuddles, hugs, and a gentle kiss.
The world spins inside my head,
even faster when I’m in bed.
Never ever slowing down,
I sometimes feel like I may drown.
My greatest wish is for it to stop,
before my brain decides to pop.
I need just one night to sleep,
a sleep that’s comforting and so deep.
To wake refreshed is a dream of mine,
I want to be happy and feel fine.
