The mighty wind blows.
All things fall before its wrath.
The land is wiped clean.
I’m not sure why every leaf must die,
vibrant green life turns brown and dry.
The first sign is the air turns cold,
Autumn turns the leaves red and gold.
Then Winter’s chill hits the air,
the biting wind doesn’t care.
The last leaf hits the snowy ground,
no more green can be found.
Why this happens, I just don’t know,
but the fallen leaves are buried under snow.
Whatever the reason is for this thing,
the leaves will return in the Spring.
A climate change from warm to cold.
Everything green turning to gold.
I simply love this time of year,
Our yard decorated with Halloween fear.
Ugly goblins, evil trolls, even pumpkins bright and bold!
The golden effulgence of the sun,
begins its rise as I run.
Dappled shadows beneath my feet,
is much cooler than noonday heat.
The sun at its zenith, it’s time for the beach,
soaking up the radiance, my mind out of reach.
The joy of the summer solstice frees my mind,
and lets my stressed-out body slowly unwind.
The sand was hot beneath my feet,
I didn’t care, I welcomed the heat.
Me and Summer are like one,
I love the warmth of the sun.
Winter is gone, I am so glad,
Though in Spring, I can be sad.
School and snow are both such bores,
In the summer, I don’t mind my chores.
I’d rather dig a garden in the sun,
Than shovel snow when it’s minus one.
Summer is the time for me,
The only time I feel free.
I can lay on the beach all day long,
And listen to the ocean’s song.
The ocean song fills my mind,
Allowing me to unwind.
If I need to cool my skin,
I race to the sea and jump in.
With all I’ve said I need no reasons,
To say Summer is the best of seasons.
You lay back in the sun
after a long hard run.
The ocean’s waves lap the shore,
and you relax down to your core.
Your eyes close, your muscles unwind.
Tension leaves your body and mind.
As you slowly drift off to sleep,
happy thoughts, your dreams keep.
The sun shining, the sky clear,
nary a cloud found far or near.
Time goes by, then slowly you wake,
rising from the sand with a shake.
Running your fingers through your hair,
sand, sand everywhere.
Hair and clothes now free of sand,
feeling connected to the land.
Your feet moving, your mind now free,
your thoughts as happy as can be.
Towards home, you go, leaving the beach,
your dreams now feel within reach.
Just one lightning strike.
The big oak tree is now ash.
The strongest can fall.
Its springtime now and you know,
Things will soon start to grow.
The snow is finally in the past,
The freezing cold cannot last.
Shovels and sleds neatly stacked,
Coats and hats have been packed.
All the trees are turning green.
Flowers and plants can be seen,
In the fields and in your yard.
So, you best be on your guard.
With new growth, comes the bees,
Buzzing around flowers and trees.
Sunny days on the way,
Warmth is here to stay.
You prepare your picnic things,
And all that summertime brings.
Summer though is not quite here,
Let springtime bring some cheer.
Spring is hiding in the trees,
Hiding from the Winter breeze.
Snow still heaped on the ground,
Not one flower can be found.
But I know Spring will soon be here,
The sun will shine, the birds will cheer.
Warmth will return to the land,
Trees and flowers looking grand.
Fresh mown grass tickles my bare feet,
As I soak in the new Spring heat.
I pick strawberries, plump and fresh,
Biting into their succulent flesh.
I pick some more, continue on my way,
Enjoying this bright, Springtime day.
The smell of flowers.
The warming touch of the sun.
Spring is in the air.
