Naked Temptation

The alluring stare of his deep blue eyes.

The sway of his hips tempt and tantalize.

In one second flat, you are lost in lust.

You covet his touch, time alone a must.

This irresistible man draws you in.

His enticing smile is almost a sin.

Is this a seduction or something more?

You sway together as clothes hit the floor.

Naked bodies combine in lust-filled heat.

This will be a night you want to repeat.

As the morning sun rises in the sky,

You walk him to the door with a kiss goodbye.

A Boy and His Tank

Pure panic filled the young boy’s fearful green eyes.

Afraid and unsure what dangers lurked in the skies.

The boy took a big risk and left where he was hid.

Hoping that the aliens would not notice a kid.

Every adult was stricken with overwhelming fear.

The boy took a deep breath and wiped away a tear.

He had to do something, though he was just fifteen.

He could not let the intruders get away clean.

Each grownup he’d seen, their faces were aghast,

With them frozen in place, he had to act fast.

In the middle of the road sat an army tank.

The boy ran from the shadow of the local bank

He jumped on the tank, made his way inside,

And started the engine, preparing for his ride.

The controls looked just like his new video game,

An hour later the boy was on his way to fame.

All the aliens were gone, there were simply no more,

And the boy thought that must count as a high score.

He wondered if the unfrozen grownups would thank

The skinny teenage boy sitting on top of his tank.

The Eclipse

The eclipse turned day into night,

As it began, it caused quite a fright.

People thought the sun would turn dark,

And that it would soon hold no spark.

Without the sun, people would die.

Panicked, they stared up at the sky.

As the eclipse reached its totality,

People wondered if they should flee.

Then the sun began its return.

People cheered, knowing it still burned.

The sun was again full in the sky.

The eclipse had caused no one to die.

The Thing Called You

Are fables and legends simply a bore?

Have traditions passed right into folklore?

Would you go to a genealogy convention?

Or do you view values of culture as an invention?

For some heritage is an important thing.

They honor each ancestor like they were a king.

Customs like habits can be hard to break.

Whatever you do, make no mistake.

Traditions and customs may come from the past.

But there is a reason why they always last.

All the things that came before and all that is new.

They all add up to the thing that’s called you.

Florida Christmas

The boy kicked the sand beneath his feet,

Cursing the steamy Florida heat.

He used to love this time of year,

But now he’d lost his holiday cheer.

He didn’t want to celebrate on a beach,

His Christmas spirit seemed out of reach.

Then something hit him just like a dart,

Something that woke his sleeping heart.

Another boy walked up with a grin,

And said, a friendship we should begin.

This boy knew nothing of snowflakes,

On Christmas, his dad would grill some steaks.

And yet, this boy might be the one,

To brighten Christmas and make it fun.

Together, they combined what they knew,

And, as they worked, their friendship grew.

They turned the beach into a winter wonderland,

And celebrated Christmas hand in hand.

Healing Heart

You cried when I walked out the door,

You begged me to stay just one day more.

I said that’s something I can’t do,

I just can’t stay here with you.

I had to leave, had to say good bye,

Before I, too, broke down and cried.

I knew the truth, you don’t love me,

So, I had to set you free.

To see you with another guy,

Broke my heart, made me cry.

Years have healed the hurt and pain,

I’ve even learned to love again.

I don’t regret the time we shared,

I know you loved me, I know you cared.

You moved on, I had to, too,

But part of me still loves you.

A New Land

A sea of red filled my sight,

and I knew it was time to fight.

Our greatest goals were to be free,

and rid our home of tyranny.

The British Army stood in our way,

but we vowed to win this day.

The cannons boomed, the rifles popped,

it seemed our rival couldn’t be stopped.

Then the smoke cleared, we saw the sun,

and we saw the Red Coats on the run.

A shout rang out on that glorious morn,

that the United States had been born.

The Friendly Snake

The snake in the grass gets bad press,

He isn’t always looking to start a mess.

He slithers, and he slides all day long,

Without ever doing one thing wrong.

The propaganda machine slanders his name,

But if you leave him alone, he is quite tame.

He doesn’t want to bother you,

He’s just looking to eat a rat or two.

Build your case, find the clues,

But I think his rep is fake news!

Stressful Day

Thoughts of you filled his mind,

As his stressful day unwinds.

A text or two and you’re there,

Running your fingers through his hair.

A word of love, a gentle kiss,

You turn his stress into bliss.

Hand in hand, you stroll the beach,

Never stopping until you reach,

The favorite spot for you two,

A quiet place for him and you.

You lay your head against his chest,

Glad you’re away from all the rest.

You wait to see what tonight may bring,

A quiet talk or other things.

Not Too Long

Sometimes I think I’ve lived too long,

Everything right has gone so wrong.

There should be a way to restart,

My tired, aching, broken heart.

Then his smile turned my head,

Maybe my heart is not dead.

He says “hi,” my knees go weak.

This could be the thing I seek.

His touch lights my skin on fire,

Our eyes filled with hot desire.

Maybe things have not gone wrong,

And I have not lived too long.
