Don’t Let Go

Love can strike fast,

hitting you like a grenade blast.

Or love can strike slow,

filling you with a warm glow.

No matter where you try to turn,

when love strikes, you will feel it burn.

The fire of love runs hot and bright.

It fills your eyes with shining light.

Whether the strike is fast or slow,

grab on tight and don’t let go.

Wet Kisses

He clasps your hand, pulling you to his side,

his sexy smile is oh so wide.

A loving caress of your cheek,

makes your knees wobbly and weak.

The passion obvious on his face,

as you are pulled into his embrace.

Hands sliding down to your hips,

his tongue darting between your lips.

Kisses that are warm and wet,

are the best ones you can get.

More Than a Box

I don’t fit into a box or bag,

I’m not reflected by a name tag.

I am who I am no matter what you say,

More than a writer, more than just gay.

I have many sides to my personality,

So, stop trying to put a label on me.

If you want something to put in a box,

Go find some toys or a pile of rocks.

Were You Ever Real?

Were you ever truly real?

What of the love I did feel?

Doubts now cloud my mind,

As memories slowly unwind.

I felt your love every day,

But that feeling is slipping away.

Sometimes now when I think of you,

Instead of happy, I feel blue.

I thought our love was so strong,

Why did everything go so wrong?

You aren’t here to comfort me,

I was lonely as could be.

I thought that I might just give in,

Love and happiness could not win.

Someone else then found my heart,

Their radiant smile made me start.

To think that I could love again,

And happiness might soon begin.

One last time I ask of you,

Were you real? I wish I knew.

Monsters

Monster! Monster! Why are you there?

Under my bed, with your claws and your hair.

You fill me with so much dread,

Every time I go to my bed.

I hear your claws scrape on the floor,

As I race to my bed from the door.

Your growling and snarling keep me awake,

Until sleep overcomes my frightened shakes.

I am told that you’re not real,

But that is not what I feel.

I have proof that you exist,

But adults can’t see through your magical mist.

The fear you cause must come to a stop,

But I know I can’t call a cop.

So, to bring you to your grisly end,

I’ve made the monster in the closet my best friend.

His Smiles

His amusement was pure delight,

his laugh lighting up the darkest night.

My grin revealed so very much,

about my feelings when we touch.

A smirk formed on his lips,

as his hands found my hips.

The beam in his eyes, the dimple in his cheek,

caused my wobbly knees to go weak.

I will love this guy until the end of time,

my heart is his and his heart is mine.

Rain

Rain can make for a dreary day,

The sun is gone, the sky is grey.

Clouds roll in, the land goes dark,

Thunder rumbles, lightning sparks.

The wind blows, the trees shake,

Puddles form just like a lake.

Stay inside, out of the storm,

In front of the fire where it’s warm.

Winter rain is cold as ice,

Not like summer when it’s nice.

In the spring, rain brings life,

In the fall, hurricanes rain strife.

All in all, we need the rain,

Even if it may cause pain.

Though I may prefer a blue sky,

Without rain, the land would die.

Plants would wither, animals would thirst,

And that, my friends, would be the worst.

Rain can make for a dreary day,

We need it, just not every day.

The Evil Mage

The noonday sky as dark as night.

Nary a sun or star in sight.

Every head turned toward the sky.

We all thought we might soon die.

Where did the bright sun go?

When will new light begin to show?

An evil mage made his claim.

For the darkness, he took the blame.

He set out to rule the land.

With a plan that’s bold and grand.

He led his army to secure his rule.

To oppose him, you’d be a fool.

The mage’s power continued to grow.

But signs of resistance began to show.

The darkened sun showed new light.

The knights of old rejoined the fight.

The sun’s bright light, shining in the dark,

Strengthened that small rebellious spark.

A bright blue sky now held sway.

The mage’s army was swept away.
