Bully Violence

Why are bullies filled with aggression?

I think their brutality is a confession.

They attack those smaller to create harm and pain.

Their violence proves that they are not sane.

I am not saying they should be locked in a cage.

But they should seek help to control their rage.

Did someone cause injury to them as a kid?

A tumultuous life may explain what they did.

Being assaulted does not free them from blame.

They need to see that not everyone is the same.

If you are a bully, you need to ask for help.

Do not just go around and make other kids yelp.

Free your heart and mind of your negative past.

Then you can make some friends and smile at last.

Your Own Path

Is the worship of the Christian God your creed?

Are the teachings of Jesus what you need?

Is your faith otherworldly or based on nature?

Or is the principle of your faith an unholy creature?

You are free to choose which faith is right for you,

Please remember everyone else has that right, too.

Don’t push your faith on anyone, whatever it may be,

Let each person choose their own path to spirituality.

Unforeseen

The future holds secrets you can’t foresee.

But would you want to know your destiny?

I hope that I alone control my fate.

Being tied to prophecy, I would hate.

I would not want to lose the opportunity,

To be the only one in control of me.

The future has the potential for change.

Don’t be thrown off your game by the strange.

Imminent danger or infinite peace.

You can handle it all with some elbow grease.

Overcome Tragedy

Every day there is another tragedy.

Death and destruction with each catastrophe.

Is the world under a curse of impending doom?

Will each new wreck add to our overwhelming gloom?

Don’t let misfortune create adversity.

Use each affliction to foster unity.

When everyone else is a beacon of woe,

Bring them together, let your inner light glow.

You may not affect the whole world, but you can start

To bring your friends together with your loving heart.

A Land Far Away

Once upon a time in a land far away,

No one was bullied because they are gay.

One day a teen boy wandered into that land,

He looked around and said, “Oh this is grand!”

The natives of the land looked oddly at the teen,

They asked, “Why are you shocked? What do you mean?”

“In my home, they don’t think that gay is right,

They’d rather we kept our love out of sight.”

“That thinking is so sad, all are welcome here,

Whether you are gay, straight, or queer.”

The boy smiled sadly then said with a grin,

“If they don’t change their ways, will you let me in?”

The cutest boy from that faraway place

Smiled so broadly he nearly cracked his face.

“If those fools don’t let you live your life true,

Don’t let them make your pretty face blue.

Come right back here and quickly you’ll see

That I want you and me to become we.”

The boy blushed and then hugged his new friend.

“I’ll be back for you, this is not the end.”

They had to part, but they both knew they’d miss

The taste on their lips of their sweet goodbye kiss.

The Bygone Era

A bygone era of antiquity.

A long-ago time lost to history.

A distant memory you hope will last.

A memoir. Remembrances of the past.

Don’t let your time here simply fade away.

The past is something to cherish each day.

So, keep all of your memories close at hand.

And you will always feel oh so grand.

Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th is said to be,

A time for luck, bad for you and me.

There is much written about the lore,

Most of it filled with blood and gore.

Legend tells of Knights Templar,

Killed by kings from afar.

Though that part may, in fact, be true,

The day has turned to something new.

Jason Vorhees and Camp Crystal Lake,

Frighten the kids, though it’s fake.

Fact or fiction, I don’t care,

It’s fun to get a big scare.

Blue-haired Loneliness

The blue-haired boy sat alone and cried.

Why do they hate him, do they wish he did?

The empty aching is always a part

Of the loneliness in his heart.

Is it monotonous isolation?

Or just self-imposed seclusion?

A quiet longing for just one friend.

Screaming in silence, is this the end?

But then on his shoulder, he felt a hand.

And he looked up into a smile so grand.

The other boy sat down right by his side.

The boy asked him why it was that he cried.

“The other kids make fun of me all day,

Because of my blue hair and that I’m gay.”

The new boy grinned and gave a sly wink.

“You really shouldn’t care what they all think.”

He reached out and took the blue-haired boy’s hand.

“Follow me,” he said as he started to stand.

“I know you are right and I should not care,

But what if they continue to stare?

If you walk with me, then they’ll hate you, too.

Are you sure that is what you want to do?”

“I just don’t care what they think about me.

Once you think like that then you will be free.

Now, let us go stick our toes in the sand.

You’ll be the happiest boy in all the land.”

“Wait, did you just ask me out on a date?”

“Yes. If you’ll go it will be great.”

The blue-haired boy grinned and said he’d go,

And still hand in hand they walked away slow.

Could this boy’s loneliness be in the past?

Hope filled his eyes, and his heart beat fast.

The two boys raced toward the sea.

Their two hearts bursting with glee.

Social Anxiety

The jittery feeling you get inside,

Dread and fear spread far and wide.

The restless unease, the fretful distress,

Anxiety causes a nervous mess.

The awful feeling of disquietude,

You don’t want friends to think you rude.

You try to go out and have some fun,

When all you want is to turn and run.

Social interaction is hard for you,

But you smile and go out with your crew.

They are the ones who make it worthwhile,

The stress recedes when your friends smile.
