Three Wishes

What would your ambition be,

if you were given wishes, three?

Are you longing for a special treat?

Or yearning to live on an upscale street?

Do you hope for a monetary win?

Or will you desire sweet sexy sin?

If you keep your intentions pure and true,

Maybe the Genie will be kind to you.

Just beware if your aspirations are bad,

The Trickster Genie may make you sad!

On My Sleeve

I wear my heart out on my sleeve,

please don’t squash it! Please, oh, please!

I want to wrap my arms around you tight,

when I love, it’s with all my might.

I leave myself open to crushing pain,

please don’t make my tears fall like rain.

I know I should leave my heart in my chest,

and protect myself like all the rest.

But I can’t do that! No! No! No!

If I love you, it will show.

Today is the Day

Was I working or was I home?

It doesn’t matter, I was all alone.

In a group or with a friend,

my lonely thoughts never end.

So, if you hear my silent shout,

please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Then we can be alone together,

silently shouting into the ether.

Someday maybe we’ll find our voices,

and alone together we’ll make our choices.

A choice to reach out a hand,

a nervous touch, a smile so grand.

A warm feeling that pushes lonely away,

a distant hope that maybe you’ll stay.

Then you pull me close, whisper in my ear,

I’m here to stay, please don’t fear.

A tentative smile brightens me eyes.

Today is the day that loneliness dies.

Dreams

Are dreams merely a fantasy illusion

where our thoughts and desires work in collusion?

Are they one big fantasy mental picture

of your favorite daily adventure?

A vision of the future, an image of the past?

A montage of things that you wish would last?

Don’t let your dream be lost. No. Never.

Grab on tight for now and forever.

Too Soon

I did not know you very long,

but I felt our friendship could grow strong.

All too soon you were called away,

that you found some peace, this I pray.

You were such a sweet guy,

now on angel wings you do fly.

You will be missed by one and all,

the impact you left is not small.

Until the day we meet again,

you’re in my heart, my dear friend.

At the River

The sky glowed like brilliant fire,

His eyes burned with hot desire.

The sun set behind the river,

His touch made my skin quiver.

As we watched, he held me tight,

And the evening turned into night.

Just before we turned to go,

He pulled me close, kissed me slow.

We walked home hand in hand,

Both of us feeling oh so grand.

We reach his street and must part,

My love for him is off the chart.

He touches my face, says I love you,

I say good night, I love you too.

Baseball in Spring

Winter snow may blanket the land,

But I think of Spring, a time so grand.

Baseball, for me, is the first sign,

The crack of the bat, a sound divine.

Pitchers and catchers have reported to work,

That Cubs fan is bragging, oh what a jerk.

Fastballs and sliders, curveballs too.

Peanuts and popcorn, bubblegum to chew.

Florida and ‘Zona are the places to be,

If baseball is what you want to see.

Players take the field, the crowds cheer,

Hoping their team will win this year.

Free agents, rookies look to impress,

The final roster is anyone’s guess.

Spring is a time for getting fit,

Work on that swing, get a big hit.

Polish that fastball, work on your curve,

Stare down the batters with a steely nerve.

Baseball means that winter is done,

Now take the field and have some fun.

The Waterfall Pool

The cascade of water flowed over the rocks,

as I sat on the bank and took off my socks.

I glanced to my right and saw my friend smile,

as each piece of clothing ended up in the pile.

The roaring of the waterfall was loud in my ears,

as his loving touch eased all of my fears.

I saw each possibility reflected in his eyes,

while to foam and spray splashed into the skies.

He guided me past the rapids and into the pool,

where the water was calm and refreshingly cool.

I swam naked for hours with the love of my life,

while the waterfall pool washed away all my strife.

Basketball

Basketballs bounce on the ground,

Across the court, your feet do pound.

You throw the ball up in the air,

Your mind is free, without a care.

The ball arcs towards the net,

Faster than a fighter jet.

You raise your fist as it goes through,

The big crowd cheers, just for you.

Two more points add to the score,

Your team now only trails by four.

You turn to face your foe,

Defense is the way to go.

Where he’ll stop, you try to spot,

So, you can jump and block his shot.

The ball hits off your hand,

It deflects, you feel grand.

Two scores later the game is tied,

It is so exciting, quite a ride!

As time expires, the ball flies from your hand,

The crowd cheers as, through the net, it lands.
