A sea of red filled my sight,
and I knew it was time to fight.
Our greatest goals were to be free,
and rid our home of tyranny.
The British Army stood in our way,
but we vowed to win this day.
The cannons boomed, the rifles popped,
it seemed our rival couldn’t be stopped.
Then the smoke cleared, we saw the sun,
and we saw the Red Coats on the run.
A shout rang out on that glorious morn,
that the United States had been born.
