Basketball

Basketballs bounce on the ground,

Across the court, your feet do pound.

You throw the ball up in the air,

Your mind is free, without a care.

The ball arcs towards the net,

Faster than a fighter jet.

You raise your fist as it goes through,

The big crowd cheers, just for you.

Two more points add to the score,

Your team now only trails by four.

You turn to face your foe,

Defense is the way to go.

Where he’ll stop, you try to spot,

So, you can jump and block his shot.

The ball hits off your hand,

It deflects, you feel grand.

Two scores later the game is tied,

It is so exciting, quite a ride!

As time expires, the ball flies from your hand,

The crowd cheers as, through the net, it lands.

Light in the Dark

Sometimes I reach out a hand,
but nothing is there, only darkness.
I saw something in the void,
but, alas, just a reflection, an echo.
I yell and scream without a voice.
Silence. Darkness. Overwhelming.
There! I see it! A glimmer of light!
I follow. I hope. Where will it lead?

Another Day in Hell

The teacher’s voice caused me to doze,

Drifting off, forgetting my woes.

This class is such a bore,

Loads of homework, what a chore!

I’d even rather study math,

Government is not my path.

Politics is just no fun,

Liars and cheaters, everyone.

My eyes open and I see,

The teacher did not notice me.

I close my book as I hear the bell,

I’ve survived one more day in hell.

My Lover, My Friend

Even when my mood turns dark,

You can still light a spark.

Turning my night back to day,

With you, always, I want to stay.

When you hold me in your arms,

I feel safe from all harms.

Your smile melts away my fears,

As you kiss away my tears.

Your love fills me to the top,

And I know that it won’t stop.

By your side, I will stay,

Our love grows stronger, day by day.

I know this love will never end,

We’re not just lovers, you’re my friend.

Acceptance

I walked out into the cold rain,

hoping it would wash away the pain.

Darkness grips my broken heart.

Words from you prick like a dart.

Love that once flamed so hot,

now it simply just does not.

Even your eyes have grown cold,

when once they were bright and bold.

It’s time that I must set you free,

and accept you don’t love me.

Sneaky Love

Love can sometimes be a sneak,

you don’t even know it’s there.

Then suddenly your knees feel weak,

and you just stop and stare.

When did this happen to me?

Why do I suddenly care

about this guy that I do see

before me with skin so fair.

I thought he was just my friend,

now love is like a glare.

I want to be with him until the end,

and run my fingers through his hair.

Thoughts of him now fill my mind,

even when he’s not there.

The love’s so bright it makes me blind,

though I still see him everywhere.

My love for him, I know is true.

I want us to be a loving pair.

Without him I’d be so blue

forever is what we’ll share.

His Shining Hand

Darkness blotted out my light,

my body gripped with fright.

I had to leave that awful place,

teardrops dripping down my face.

I stumbled and fumbled along the wall,

until I heard the sweetest call.

His shining hand created the spark,

to lead me right out of the dark.

When times get tough, friendship can be,

the rock that supports both you and me.

Photography

The click of the camera is a sound,

You may hear when I’m around.

Pictures of flowers or the sky,

Pictures of whatever may catch my eye.

I may even take one of you,

And the cute things you do.

Selfies though are not my style,

Just one or two, once in a while.

I’d rather capture the power of the sea,

Than just a close-up pic of me.

The world is such a wondrous place,

Why only just show your face?

Take pics of all you see,

Not just pics of you and me.

With my camera, I want to,

See the skies and oceans blue.

All over the world, I want to go,

And with my camera, I will show,

All the things that I have done.

Taking pictures and having fun.

Valentine’s Night

Valentine’s Day with the man I love.

Ten years now, blessed from above.

He is the other half of my soul,

Without him, I would not be whole.

He still blushes when I say,

His beauty takes my breath away.

Rose petals spread on the floor,

Lead straight to our bedroom door.

His hand against my cheek,

Makes my trembling knees go weak.

Trailing kisses down my neck,

His hands are on an adventurous trek.

Candlelight flickers all around,

Soft music providing romantic sound.

Our clothes swiftly fall to the floor,

His touch makes me beg for more.

His skill brings my body to the top,

His eager mouth doesn’t miss a drop.

Eyes rolled up inside my head,

I fall down upon the bed.

His body presses down on mine,

Moaning softly as we combine.

We fit together like a fiddle and bow,

The music we make is the best I know.

Our orgasms hit, but we’re not done,

There are hours to go on this night of fun.

They may call this night Valentine,

But every night I make him mine.
